What is Virtue Quest?
Virtue Quest Mentoring was founded in 2011 in order to meet the needs of our community schools in Cordova, TN. Virtue Quest Mentoring is a non-profit with it’s own 501c3. Our school relationship began when we shared a virtue- based curriculum, which is now taught throughout several local schools. We now offer, not only the virtue- based curriculum in schools, but also group and individual mentoring.
General Statement of Duties
This position entails responsibility for the direct service mentoring operations of the agency. All operations will be managed and implemented according to established best practices in the mentoring field. These operations include but are not limited to recruiting mentors, matching mentors with mentees, as well as organizing bi-monthly mentoring meetings for the group mentoring matches.
Duties and responsibilities
In regards to Mentors:
Help recruit adults to be mentors and general volunteers.
Direct all volunteers interested in mentoring to the MentorMe website (https://virtuequest.getmentorme.co) to begin application and orientation process
Conduct VQ mentor orientation meeting, including software training, for mentors who have completed orientation with the Grizzlies.
In regards to Mentees:
Work with families and school administration to receive referrals of mentees.
Conduct an initial orientation meeting introducing the match and reviewing the guidelines of the mentoring relationship
Continue to improve the mentee referral process in schools.
In regards to Mentor Matches:
Match all Life Mentors and Mentees.
Make contact with mentors and mentoring families at least once a month. Schedule and plan at least one activity per quarter for matched pairs.
Collaborate with the VQ Executive Director to plan ongoing training workshops for mentors. Maintain VQ database and VQ MentorMe site and keep site up to date.
Assist in writing grants in order to secure funding for future program operation.

This is a contracted position. Compensation will be $10 per hour up to 20 hours per week. A time sheet will be turned in on the second and forth week of each month. This position will last one school year, and will be dependent on the amount of funding received throughout the fiscal year.
